The anti-homeopathy resolution has been referred back to the Executive Board, with the recommendation that it be referred to the Council on Veterinary Services (COVS). 77.6% of the House of Delegate votes were to send the resolution to committee for further input.
The vote would have been higher, but PA and DE voted no, hoping to defeat this motion so they could vote against the resolution itself.
The AHVMA letter and the AVH information about homeopathy were the items that convinced delegates to vote this way.
The COVS will take a long look at homeopathy, and could conceivably could expand this to other modalities.
The next step for AHVMA is to continue our efforts to educate other veterinarians about CAVM in general. AVH is preparing more materials about homeopathy, and AHVMA is contacting other groups to ask that they do the same.
