AAVA Call for Papers

13th Annual Meeting
American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture
April 13-15, 2018

The American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (AAVA) is pleased to announce its 2018 Annual Meeting taking place on April 13-15, 2018 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This AAVA event will be held at the Inn and Spa at Loretto. The Inn and Spa at Loretto, is located in the heart of downtown, where you are free to experience Southwest culture as it was meant to be.
We are pleased to invite clinicians and other professionals to submit abstracts of a presentation for our 2018 meeting. Papers selected will be presented by the Author and printed in the 2018 Proceedings Book of the event.

Acupuncture, acupuncture related and East-Asian medical therapy articles will be considered, including Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, laser and Chinese Tui-Na therapies. We will be having some round table discussions with multiple presenters and cases. If you have an interesting case to present and would like to participate in a group presentation/discussion please submit your case.

Abstracts must be typewritten in English, double-spaced and should not exceed a single page of 8.5″ x 11″ paper (A4) with 1″ margins (2.5 cm). You are encouraged to send your abstracts by email to reed.adele@gmail.com. Please format the abstract in a Microsoft Word document and send it as an attached document identified as “2018 AAVA ABSTRACT” in the email subject line.

Curriculum Vitae for each author must accompany the abstract. Abstracts submitted without this information will not be considered.

The deadline for submission is August 15, 2017.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by September 15, 2017 to those whose abstracts are selected by the AAVA Conference Committee for presentation at the meeting. The deadline for submission of the full article for the Proceedings Book will be November 1, 2017.

Keynote Lecturers (lectures of 4 hours or more) will receive honoraria and travel expenses up to $500.00. Primary authors of selected papers of less than 4 hours of lecture will receive an hourly honoraria rate. Wet lab instructors will also receive an hourly honoraria rate. The hourly honoraria rate is $250 per hour. In addition, all presenters will receive complimentary registration and one (1) banquet ticket.
