SPEAKER: Nancy Scanlan, DVM, MS, CVA

Dr. Scanlan graduated from U.C., Davis in 1970. She started using nutraceuticals for herself and her patients during her senior year in veterinary school. She has been employed in a wide variety of practice types and college positions. She was certified in veterinary acupuncture in 1988, and incorporated other modalities including Chinese and Western herbs, nutraceuticals, trigger point therapy, and homotoxicology in her veterinary practice. She is a health coach for humans, using her website, LongerHealthierLife.net to teach how to use diet, nutraceuticals, herbs and simple exercises to help control and improve chronic disease. She currently works with the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Foundation, CIVT, VIN, and ACVBM to promote research and education in integrative holistic veterinary medicine. She lives in the woods, in a solar-powered house that is off the grid, with her husband, and a rescued Doberman.
