Mona Boudreaux, DVM, CVA, MMQ, President of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA) announced the appointment of Dr. Charles “Chuck” H. Emely as the Executive Director of AHVMA effective October 1, 2015.
Dr. Emely was formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Comprehensive Business Consultants, Inc., an international consulting firm serving association, government, and business clients. Dr. Emely is an experienced association executive, and has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, as well as the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) designation.
Dr. Emely has served as chief executive of several not-for-profit organizations, and specialized in change-agent, crisis management, and reorganization assignments. He has also consulted with various types of not-for-profit and governmental organizations. He holds advanced degrees in corporate communications and management. He is an active member of several professional associations including the American Society of Association Executives.
His avocational interests include aviation, communications, music, travel, and wine collecting. He is a Life Member of MENSA. He is also a pet lover, and shares a home with two shelter rescue cats, Princess and Pearl. Dr. Emely resides in Delaware with his wife Mary Ann, who is also a Certified Association Executive and serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
