Dear AHVMA membership,
I am just wrapping up my first month as AHVMA president and it is with humility and surprise that I must ask for everyone’s attention and support with a serious association matter.
AHVMA’s annual revenue in 2020 was roughly half that of 2019, and far below the pre-pandemic projected revenue. In addition, during COVID we had the exceedingly large and unexpected expense of changing from an in-person to a virtual conference. The virtual conference in 2020 was $108,000.00 over budget. Reduced attendance by the membership and vendors alike for the 2021 conference has made our financial deficits even more critical.
The AHVMA is facing insolvency by the spring of 2022 without immediate help.
I love the AHVMA and everything it has done to further our careers and our lives. I value the lifelong friendships I have made, and the skills that I use daily, made possibly by being a participating member of AHVMA. I know AHVMA is synonymous with the best in complementary and alternative veterinary education and I want it to survive.
I know we all have our current hardships, but I am asking you each to make a tax-deductible donation NOW to keep AHVMA alive.
The suggested donation is $200.00, but we truly appreciate whatever you can give. All donors will receive recognition on the AHVMA website, in the spring issue of the Journal, and at the 2022 AHVMA Annual Conference.
I thank you all.
Sincerely,
Diana Drumm, DVM
AHVMA President 2021 – 2022
