Being a small office, we get to do a little bit of everything, including membership processing, conference preparations, Journal advertising, website maintenance, referral directory updates, and Association email. Every day offers new and exciting challenges and learning experiences. We enjoy working with all of you, and we will be ready and willing to help in any way.
Executive Director: Dr. Charles “Chuck” H. Emely
Dr. Emely was formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Comprehensive Business Consultants, Inc., an international consulting firm serving association, government, and business clients. Dr. Emely is an experienced association executive, and has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, as well as the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) designation.
Dr. Emely has served as chief executive of several not-for-profit organizations, and specialized in change-agent, crisis management, and reorganization assignments. He has also consulted with various types of not-for-profit and governmental organizations. He holds advanced degrees in corporate communications and management. He is an active member of several professional associations including the American Society of Association Executives.
His avocational interests include aviation, communications, music, travel, and wine collecting. He is a Life Member of MENSA. He is also a pet lover, and shares a home with two shelter rescue cats, Princess and Pearl. Dr. Emely resides in Delaware with his wife Mary Ann, who is also a Certified Association Executive and has recently retired from the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
Operations Director: Melissa Kellagher
Melissa has a bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. She has spent the last 6 years working in a veterinary clinic as a receptionist and in an administrative role. She was born and raised in Maryland, by her parents with her 4 brothers and sisters.
Melissa enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son, as well as her two dogs, Watson and Holmes. She also enjoys doing puzzles, going on walks, and spending time with her large extended family.
Administrative Coordinator: Wendy Ribbans
Wendy previously worked 3 years in a veterinary clinic and has many years of administrative experience in both the public and private sector.
Wendy enjoys gardening and pet sitting in her spare time. She lives with her three very adored rescue cats, Milo, Parker, and Snookie.
Wendy enjoys working with all the AHVMA members.
Bookkeeper: Anne Dillon
Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and enjoys her role at AHVMA as the bookkeeper. She is currently taking classes in pursuit of her AIPB Bookkeeper’s Certification. When not at the office she likes to surround herself with her family and friends and enjoys music, fitness, and sports.
